Before choosing a deployment model it is important to understand the differences between a public, private, hybrid, and community environment.

Public

The application is being deployed to a public cloud environment. Deploying to a public cloud environment means the infrastructure and services being utilized are shared broadly. This is the most common type of deployment.

Private

The application is being deployed to a private cloud environment that is exclusive. Deploying to a private cloud environment means the infrastructure and services being utilized are not shared outside the organization.

Hybrid

The application components are being deployed across a combination of public, private, or on-premise environments.

Community

The application is being deployed to a Community cloud environment. Deploying to a Community cloud means infrastructure and services are being shared with partner organizations or entities.
